Established in 1990, De Steyl creates furniture and interior joinery of exceptional quality. We are a company of furniture designers and makers who love and understand wood, design and architecture. Our work is inspired by the people we work with and reflects our belief in simplicity, honesty and proportion in furniture design. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship, superior finishing and a commitment to excellent service. We have made bespoke furniture for the most prestigious homes and hotels along the Garden Route of South Africa as well as Mauritius and other overseas commissions. We collaborate with architects and interior designers and offer a design & project management service. De Steyl is led by architect Deánne Viljoen who has managed to instil in young De Steyl makers an appreciation of design and a culture of quality and innovation aimed to assist design professionals, developers and discerning individuals alike. Be it a large hotel contract or a small bespoke piece, great care is taken to delight the customer from initial consultation through to final installation.
